Maltese Shipping Company International Owner

For a vessel to be Registered under the Malta Flag, it must be either :

a) Wholly owned by a Maltese Shipping Company, or

b) Owned by an "International Owner" being a foreign company who has appointed a "Resident Agent" in Malta.

Flagport Ltd provides services:

* For the formation of Maltese Shipping Companies which must have a minimum Authorised and Issued Share Capital of €1200 (one thousand two hundred euros), 20% of which must be paid up. A Power of Attorney, in favour of Flagport representatives, from the Shareholders would be required to subscribe to the Share Capital

* To act as Resident Agent in favour of an International Owner. A "Declaration of Appointment of Resident Agent" as well as "Legal Opinion" and "Good Standing Certificate" of the foreign company must be delivered to the Malta Registrar.
